This final project was a very intensive and time consuming piece of work. During the creation of this third project I used many materials and techniques. Through the use of Autodesk Viz I attempted to bring the warm, rustic feel to my structure that I had imagined. From the beaten wood floor to the exterior wood panels I tried to recreate everything I had in my imagination. The roof was not my first choice; however, the metal roofing that I had imagined did not flow with my design as I had planned. The shelves are a light wooden texture, but failed to convey their detail in the walkthrough.

As far as the lighting goes I used Omni lights to illuminate my building in key spaces. The glass wall curving around the stairs helped in lighting most of the upstairs and some of the downstairs’ sitting area. The camera was created through the use of the walkthrough assistant, allowing me to focus where my viewer would look and what features they would notice. I feel that it achieved most of what I wanted to accomplish and see.

Autodesk Viz was overall a simple program to use for what was asked in this project. The only problem that arose during my assignment was the rendering time. At first I picked ray tracer which gave me a very good image and movie. Nonetheless, after sixteen hours of rendering the walkthrough and only about a third of the way through I decided to cancel and choose a simpler rendering option.
